Julie Mai, DO

Traditional Osteopathic Physician

Medical Director & Founder

Dr. Mai practices comprehensive traditional osteopathy and cranial osteopathy, and is certified in Homeopathy and Bach Flower Essences. She treats infants, children, and adults. Many parents seek her care for plagiocephaly, reflux, digestive issues, sleep issues, and rare genetic disorder and defects. She also addresses developmental delays, learning disabilities, all forms of trauma, sports injuries, and frequent illnesses. Having worked closely with Doctor Viola Frymann for several years, she has experience in addressing the above health concerns for pediatric patients. Many adults also see her for headaches, concussions, traumas, back and joint pains. She also works with many holistic and biological dentists in San Diego and Orange County to help address oral facial development and health, dental alignment and airway optimization. She had trained and taught with Dr. Darick Nordstrom on his ALF appliance. In addition, Dr. Mai strongly believes in providing beneficial education for the patients and their family.

She currently is on the Board of Directors for the Osteopathic Cranial Academy (OCA), Osteopathy’s Promise to Children (OPC), Osteopathic Center for Children (OCC), and Osteopathic Cranial Academy Foundation (OCAF). She currently serves as the President of OCC, Secretary of OPC, President-Elect of OCA, and Board of Governors of American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO). She is part of the teaching faculty for OPC at the Osteopathic Center San Diego and for the OCA. She is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO).

Since the inception of her career, Dr. Mai has always worked towards creating a safe and collaborative space to bring forth YOUR most Optimal, Functional Health within your intelligent, adaptive body. As a Medical Director, she has selected a clinical team of synergistic, like-minded practitioners who embody this vision of working together for the patient’s benefit. Steph Lynn

Administrative Assistant

Steph has grown up most of her life in Encinitas, CA. She’s married, and has two teenagers and a very active elementary schooler. She brings a wealth of experience to our team with her experience in working the front and back office as a Certified Medical Assistant since 2009. Working in the medical field allows her to fulfill her passion for helping others.

Steph enjoys watching her son’s soccer games, painting, reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, relaxing anywhere by the water, and living a holistic lifestyle. She also enjoys playing her crystal singing bowls and learning more about the metaphysical aspects of life.

David Allen, L.Ac., DACM

Pediatric Acupuncturist & Herbalist

David offers both acupuncture and herbal treatments for the Pediatric population. He addresses issues relating to colds & respiratory, digestive system, autism, eye disorder, ADD/ADHD, Tourette’s, learning disorders, speech delays, Sensory Processing disorders, bedwetting, sleep problems, skin issues and much more. He developed painless, needle-free alternatives to acupuncture and tasty herbal formulas from his direct studies with Alex Tiberi, whom is known as the foremost expert on pediatric acupuncture and herbalism in the Western world. David believes that all children deserve every chance at a healthy and happy life and has devoted his life to helping them achieve their highest potential.

Josh Dodds, NTP

Holistic Nutritionist

Josh helps health-focused clients recover from chronic illnesses and recurring symptoms, so they can function optimally and feel their best. He focuses on whole food nutrition and holistic health, which have been the most influential healing forces in his life, his many clients, friends, and family he has worked with. He believes incredible healing can occur when you give your body the nutrients it needs, especially in food found in nature. He hopes to inspire many people towards this life-changing experience. Josh sees clients with a variety of health complaints including gut health, immune challenges / autoimmunity, fatigue, lethargy, burnout, and sleep issues.

Acupuncturist

Sherine enjoys and is experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, but has a particular interest in treating orthopedic/musculoskeletal conditions (injuries, acute or chronic pain, post-op healing), all aspects of women’s health (menstrual disorders, peri-menopause symptoms, fertility, labor preparation, etc), anxiety and overall stress reduction, and skin rejuvenation with microneedling. She provides individualized and integrative care and believes in a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory in conjunction with modern, biomedical understanding and approach to treatment.
